This might be a bit out in Left Field, but wasn't the premise of this show to find the next "Pop Star" from the average american youth?
If you look back over the past years, there are more "Pop Stars" from those who were either eliminated or didn't win then winners. Of the last 8 winners, only two really come to the front as actual Singing Stars and they are Kelly Clarkson and Carrie Underwood. David Cook is starting to get to that level but he has a long way to go, otherwise what this show has spawned is a great bunch of "Broadway Musical Actors".
Look at all the "Winners" who have gone on to Broadway, Fantasia, Ruben Studdard and Taylor Hicks. I have no idea what Jordan Sparks is doing other than a couple of shows on the Disney Channel and Kris Allen does great Ford Commercials. Also, many of the "Eliminated" have had broadway careers as well Clay Akins, Constantine Maroulis, and Ace Young just to name a few.
Personally with the crop on stage this year, I don't see any of them becoming anywhere near a great as Kelley or Carrie or Chris Daughtry. It is going to be another year of hopefully falling into oblivion.
