Boy am I feeling stupid!!! Having been late teens-early 20's when these kinds of songs came out, I had no idea that this was anti war song like Kara said. I thought it was anti-establishment song, and about using drugs. It was like thumbing your nose at the government for stupid rules, and we had Kent State shootings about that time. My brother was in Grant Park, Chicago during the Democratic Convention and saw cops beating teens w/nightsticks. The police took his camera and busted it. I thought this song was all about dropping out of society. Duh-what does an old hippie know? lol Do you find this valuable?
