ok can somebody please tell me why you cant try out if you are over 28... does that make sense to other people? My husband is a 42 year old with a voice that will blow the judges minds!!! But he is too old??? They should take every person over 15 and judge them by their ability... not age. I am going to see if i can change that rule.

The main reason the age limit is 28 is because American Idol is more directed to find that young promising voice. They honestly are mostly looking for guys and gals in their late teens and early 20s since they are easier to handle, market, and advertise. They really only let people 25 in as they feel they could potentially find a shining gem, that they could still market. Its not always easy to market a guy who is 42 unless he blows every single person in the crowd. I honestly don't share this philosophy, but sadly it can be true in most cases. For your husband however, he could consider The X Factor, I don't believe there is an age limit.

We have watched all 10 seasons, and we feel this was the greatest of all of them. It was so overboard with talent.And the judges made the show the best ever!! Loved the way the had class when talking with the kids,and became familey. All the mentors were the best especialy Jimmy. As usual we have picked winners every year,in our group of friends that watch. Not bad for 66 yr, an 74 yeaar old grandparents!!!

Lady Gaga was good and different as a mentor, even if just a little weird and looked like an emo clown. Much better than that Jimmy What's-his-face. I hate that guy. He loves the camera, getting in every shot he can and thinking he's all that. I really hope they do away with him next season. OK, so the remaining four performed. James did well, as he always does. Haley was criticized by Randy & Jennifer after her first song which was a Micheal Jackson song. They felt the song was wrong for her, they stated she didn't have the R&B chops to be singing that type of song and she screamed it in the end. In all fairness, hardly anyone can successfully sing a Michael Jackson song as good as Michael. He's a legend. What tarnished Haley further, were the moments after the Judges spoke where she showed anger, attitude and wouldn't even look at the camera. She definitely had a diva moment. So much so, that she still showed anger in her face when singing her second song, which was a much better choice for her. She outright glared her eyes ahead of her. In the end, the judges thought she redeemed herself with the second song. Scotty did well on his performances, as did Lauren. So, yeah, that's my re-cap of the show. Who will be the next to go? Who knows. You're welcome to share any guesses here in this thread. Once we find out who goes home, I will post it here in this same thread and you will be able to share your opinions about that here as well.

I felt like throwing the TV out the window when I heard Ryan say that two girls where in the top three. Lauren deserves to be here, but Haley is just so dang terrible! SHE HAS NO REASON TO BE HERE. She shouldn't have made the top 24. She shouldn't have made it past auditions!
James was amazing, deserved every right to be here. His performances last night were awesome. Why he got out, I will never know...but HE should have been in the finale, while Haley should have been out WEEKS ago. She should be history.
Haley should feel like dirt right now that she has made it through will people like Stefano, Jacob, and even Pia have been sent home. She just needs to count her blessings...because she is not going to make it any further.
And I hate Jimmy too...and GaGa. What happened to all the mentors they used to have every week? Randy Travis, Adam Lambert, Miley Cyrus...now we are stuck with Jimmy, Will.i.am, and lady Gaga...yuck.
James, we will miss you buddy...and we wish you all the best with you and your family!

Jacob was sent home. Lauren was in the bottom 2 with Jacob and she was upset and crying. She must have thanked her lucky stars before bed that night. Is she the next to go? Lets us know what you think! :)

I think Scotty would do great singing "Southern Hallelujah" by Trace Adkins. He could really get the audience going and I think the judges would love seeing that side of him, kind of like when he sang "Gone".

James - I am so happy you are bringing back arena rock! Your performances make me feel like I'm at a concert. Hey can you sing some 80's ballads - some of my favorits are Skid Row "I Remember You" ,"Fly to the Angels" by Slaughter or "Love Song" by Tesla. Rock it out James!

I'm so sick and tired of hearing Randy say, "Who's in it to win it?" I think they all have been since the beginning. This seems like it means that some are not trying. I do think we have a great group this yr, but everyone is not perfect on every song they sing. Seems like coaches are giving bad advice on song choice and judges are not giving helpful critiques. In spite of all that , this group will go far and have an awsome concert.!

I love the way he changes up his style and still makes it incredible. Casey had turned to all jazz and if you liked jazz it was ok, but i really don't like it. I llike Scotty but wonder if he can only sing country. Lauren has a lot of power, but none of them are in James equal.

Scotty had a bit of a rough start with the judges because the judges want more out the contestant's performances from here on out. Jacob also got some flack from the judges. Personally, I liked Casey's performance best. He stole a kiss from Jennifer Lopez too! He's brave. James did well early, being called the best performance of the night by Jennifer & Randy, even though his was only the second performance of the night. Perhaps you have an opinion? Let us know! We say goodbye to Stefano this week. I think he's been stronger in his performances lately and he had a good night in the previous show. Vote for your favorite folks. Every vote counts. James was visibly upset, cried and tackle-hugged Stefano at the end of Stefano's song and then the remaining contestants and judges joined him in saying goodbye. The camera also focused on Jennifer's face and she was about to cry as well. Good luck to the remaining 6!
